ERROR 404 is a character from Alphatale, a core entity in Alphatale and the supposed Ancestor of Error!Sans. He is the self-proclaimed God of the Multiverse.

Backstory
William (Error404) used to work together with his brother, Adam (Alpha! Sans) in their AU AlphaTale. In their AU, They both wore jackets with numbers so that the others could tell who Alpha! Sans was and who Error404 was. Alpha! Sans wore a jacket with a number 2 and Error404 wore a jacket with a number 1. Every day they helped those who needed help within their world.
But one day, one of his brothers, originally named Jacob, began slaughtering everyone in Alphatale. He would later become more well known as Infected! Sans. He killed seeking more LV (Level of Violence). Infected! Sans waged a terrible battle where Error404 and Alpha! Sans had to stop him. They fought and fought until eventually, they came to an impasse. They got their breath back and before they could react, Infected! Sans killed Alpha! Sans. Error404 cried and mourned over his brother's death while looking at his dust. Infected! Sans smiled with pride and glee. Error404, boiling with rage and sadness, tore open a rift in reality with his bare hands but was immediately killed by Infected! Sans before he could do anything. Error404 lied on the ground looking at his brother's dust and then made a mistake that would haunt him until the end of his days. He decided to teleport him and Infected! Sans into the Anti-Void, a place that was uninhabitable at the time.

Tips
- If you are on cooldown for blue mastery and the human team is rushing you, spam dual dark blasters on yourself. (Do not spam too hard though. They tend to lag a bit)
- Always spam giant dark blasters. Anybody without a medium-high speed boost will ALWAYS get hit by it.
Weaknesses
- Laggy attacks may cause you to lag out
- Exploiters have an obvious advantage over you.(This is however true for literally every other character as well though)
Trivia
The very beginning of the God Ray has a red forcefield affect.
Error 404 blasters have a unique sound to them. (Asriel's stars)
Omni Force and Blue Mastery move the Chara Team the same distance, but Blue Mastery is just stronger and deals 25 more damage.
Error 404 is a quicker moving character similar to Venom!Sans and Shanghaivania Ink.
Many of Error 404s current attacks are reused by Virus 404.
404 Bone Barrage would once spawn a single autoaim blaster whenever it hit somebody, however this appears to have been removed.
God Ray actually deals 0 damage, and instead simply teleports you to the lobby. (This was likely done so that the FEAR Soul doesnt instantly kill him). Everything reflected by fear soul removes all properties of the move and instead sets damage ~50 and 1 dodge.Death Cutscene
Error 404 falls on the ground as his body slowly fades away followed by the map flashing black and white. The screen slowly turns to black, and the Chara team wins once his body fully disappears.

Trivia
Before being dethroned by a technicality, Error404 was the character that costed the highest amount of wins to obtain.
Weaknesses
- Takes 3M damage from every weapon. That means if a new person with stick hits you it will still deal 3M damage.
- Not tanky at all. You will die in 14 hits if you do not get the passive dodge chance once. This weakness becomes negated if you have good rng or have an absurd amount of wins(50K+)
- Low amount of attacks that are manually aimed
- If the server is lagging the bone barrage will be very slow or hardly move at all
- Most attacks are easily dodged
- A single soul cannon can instakill you if you don't get the passive dodge chance assuming you don't move out of it. This is a reason to never use godray if a frisk combo with Soul Cannon available is alive as godray stuns you making you a literal sitting duck for them to blast you into oblivion.
- You can lag yourself out/crash yourself if your device is low end
- All attacks with the exception of the 404 bone barrage have pretty obvious windups/animations/sounds that telegraph attacks extremely well.
- Can die to DustDust Combo, Admin Combos, and Last Breath Combo, due to their insane survivability. You'll get slaughtered if your win count is too low and you're not good at the game. DustDust Combo can survive 2nd shot at the cost of their summon getting instakilled instead. Last Breath Combo works completely on dodges so 2nd shot won't even activate. Ink Combo has OP regen (25hp/s) and 2500 hp along with the ability to be paired with any soul. Ink combo can also just spam ranged slashes at you which also deal 3M damage.
